Riding Lessons Rates
All lessons are individual, so the trainer can provide one-on-one training without other riders interrupting. Lessons last for 60 minutes of riding time, on average. Some days lessons may be less time because both horse and rider are doing well and lessons always end on a good note. Other days, lessons may be longer because a technique is not being grasped or maybe horse or rider are not in synch and need to work longer than 60 minutes.
Lessons are geared to the level of riding. For beginners, the first several lessons include how to groom and tack a horse properly, riding time, how to un-tack properly, and how to groom the horse before putting him back in his corral. Arrive early if you can tack the horse properly, so this will not take time from the 60 minute lesson.
Individual Lesson | $25 |
4 Lesson Plan Lessons must start within 1 month of purchase. | $90 |
8 Lesson Plan Lessons must start within 1 month of purchase. | $160 |
We suggest, at least for beginners, 3 lessons per week. The shorter the break is between lessons, the more information is retained. In most cases, this results in quicker learning and better riding.

- A 24 hour cancellation notice is required for lessons. Instructor will wait a maximum of 30 minutes for student to arrive for his/her scheduled lesson. After 30 minutes, you will be charged for the missed lesson.
- If it is raining, even drizzling, your lesson is automatically canceled. Please Contact Us to find out when you can re-schedule.
- All beginners receive the proper instruction on handling, grooming, tacking, and un-tacking the horse. This is included in your lesson time. Students are encouraged to arrive early for lessons to tack up your own horse. Since (once you know how to properly tack up a horse), the time taken to tack up a horse is not considered part of the lesson, please have the horse tacked up by the time your lesson is scheduled to begin. If you are consistently late starting your lesson on time due to tacking up, the amount of minutes you are late will be subtracted from your riding time, so you will not ride for a full 60 minutes.
- Attire: All students must wear a helmet at all times while mounted. Some exception may be made at ONLY the walk in the arena. Please discuss this with the trainer before the lesson starts. At a trot and lope / canter, all students MUST wear a helmet. Students must wear boots with a low comfortable heel and hard sole. Long pants, breeches or jeans, are required.
- Please remember the tack room must stay clean and organized. All tack must be returned to its proper place. The horse MUST be put away properly groomed and dry and must be put back in its own stall. If these rules are not followed, your riding time will be shortened.
